Chief Executive Officer
Tam holds a BSc (Hons) in Immunology from the University of Edinburgh and has over 25 years’ experience working within the Life Science Industry. Tam has worked for Hoechst, in Assay Development, Serologicals, where he developed purification strategies for Monoclonal Antibodies, Charles River Laboratories where he managed a group that performed stability and Lot release testing for the European market, Angel Biotechnology as part of Project Management team. Previous to CEO Tam served as part of the senior Management team at Ab Biotechnology.
Julie Smith
Development Manager
Julie is development Manager at Ab Biotechnology Ltd. Julie holds responsibility for all antibody production within early-stage development to pre-manufacturing process, peptide synthesis activities, and Assay Development. Julie holds a BSc (Hons) in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow and has over 20 years’ experience working within the Biotechnology sector. Julie has worked at the Hannah Research Institute where she was responsible for purification of key milk proteins, Viragen Scotland (Ltd) where she developed purification platforms for a number of antibodies and cytokines for cancer therapeutics, Angel Biotechnology plc where she was responsible for process development and technical transfer of client antibody and recombinant protein products into GMP.
Chris Mack
Quality Manager
Chris is Quality Manager at Ab Biotechnology Ltd. and is responsible for managing the company’s Quality Assurance systems, Quality Control activities and is named head of Quality on Ab Biotechnology’s MHRA MIA Manufacturing Licence. Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology and Microbiology and has over 20 years’ experience working within a GMP Quality environment. Chris has previously worked for Charles River where he managed lot release testing, stability programmes and method validation / technical transfer studies as part of the Biologics team.
Philip Williamson
GMP Production Manager
Phil is GMP Production Manager at Ab Biotechnology Ltd. Phil holds responsibility for the management of the company’s MHRA licensed manufacturing facility and production activities. Phil is named head of production on Ab Biotechnology’s MHRA MIA Licence. Phil holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and has over 25 years’ experience working within the Life Science Industry. He started his career working for BioReliance developing In Vitro Toxicology methods before moving on to other companies to progress through various senior management roles before returning to BioReliance as Laboratory Director of Microbiology. Following this he was Production Manager at Solus Scientific where he was instrumental in the development, manufacture and launch of the company’s diagnostic test kits, including taking on the interim quality manager role.
